As you may or may not recall, back in Episode 1 I mentioned Minx Mayhem, who was an early contestant in The Sex Factor, appeared briefly in a few shots, and then vanished, never to be mentioned again. (Apparently, she withdrew because she got knocked up. Birth control: essential for any good porn star)
We know about her because a 17.5 minute (by far the longest) “Behind The Scenes” episode was released of a double penetration scene with Hero, The Colonel, and Minx, and it is simultaneously better than any of the actual ‘episodes’ of The Sex Factor, while also illustrating why the show was a complete failure. Like, a DP scene is interesting! I have plenty of questions!
- Is it awkward when your balls touch?
- How do you decide who is in the ass? Is it always the smaller dick, if you don’t swap halfway through?
- Any special preparation or stretches you do beforehand, aside from the standard enema?
- What does it feel like to have two dicks in you at the same time?
- How hard is it to get the right angle for the camera?
Don’t worry, none of these questions will be answered.
We open on Asa Akira on the couch with Hero, The Colonel, and Minx. Asa explains that they’ll be shooting a DP scene and it’s the first time for everyone. Sweet! DP virgins, even better.
Asa: “We talked about it a little before, but as I told you, the anchor is the hardest position in porn as the male talent, and that’s the guy laying on his back on the bottom of the DP.”
Starting off strong, Asa dropping some inside baseball on the biz. This, right here, is what the entirety of The Sex Factor should have been. If you’ve ever watched porn and thought, “I wonder how they did THAT” – that’s what this show should be about.
Asa explains there’s two main ways to do a DP and says she finds it easiest to do reverse cowgirl, sitting on the dick that’s in her ass. Fascinating. Helpful advice, although I’m not convinced a distracted handjob is the best way to get a guy suffering from stage fright hard.

That’s actually an interesting question, kind of like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time. Exactly how hard is it to give a handjob at a weird angle while sucking a dick, and how much more challenging does each subsequent dick make it? That’s a challenge they should have used instead of the blow-off.
A moment later Asa makes the same point and tells Minx to focus on The Colonel while Hero “gets his edge”. She gives Hero a helpful squirt of lube.

And that’s it. No follow-up afterward, no interviews with anyone about how it went, no pros and cons, nothing that would give us an idea of what the experience was like. To me, this really encapsulates just how poorly The Sex Factor was executed. You have a very interesting premise that the average person (probably) would have a lot of interesting questions about, just like any number of ‘How It’s Made” episodes. There are interesting stories behind how people create the products and entertainment we all consume.
And instead of exploring those topics in any way, The Sex Factor dipped its toe in the water during the early part, and then retreated and made a regular porn scene. I don’t know whether it was incompetence at the time (failure to capture the footage and interview the contestants) or incompetence in post (failure to edit in the interesting footage) but regardless, this is why The Sex Factor was an abysmal failure.
